El premio Grammy al mejor videoclip es un galardón entregado en el contexto de los premios Grammy, una ceremonia establecida desde 1958 originalmente llamada premios Gramophone,[1]​ a los artistas, directores y productores por trabajos de calidad a los videoclips de corto formato. Los reconocimientos en cada categoría son entregados en una ceremonia anual por The Recording Academy de los Estados Unidos para «distinguir a los logros artísticos, la pericia técnica y la excelencia en general en la industria de la grabación, sin tener en cuenta la cantidad de ventas del álbum o su posición en las listas».[2]​

Originalmente se lo llamó premio Grammy por mejor video, formato corto, este se entregó por primera vez en 1984 y fue un reconocimiento similar al mejor video musical de formato largo. Desde 1986 a 1997, el nombre de la categoría se cambió por mejor video musical, corto formato. No obstante, en 1988 y 1989, los criterios del premio se cambiaron y los premios de los videos fueron presentados bajo las categorías mejor concepto de video musical y mejor interpretación de video musical. Los premios fueron regresados a su formato original en 1990, y el nombre de la categoría continúo así hasta 2014 donde se lo cambió por mejor video musical. Los ganadores incluyen a los artistas, directores, y productores asociados con los videos ganadores.

Kendrick Lamar posee el récord por la mayor cantidad de premios ganados en esta categoría como artista, con tres.Mark Romanek posee el récord de la mayor cantidad de premios ganados como director, con un total de tres. La cantante islandesa Björk posee el récord por mayor cantidad de nominaciones como intérprete sin haber ganado, con cuatro.
